Wednesday Sep 07, 2022
Devotion on Matthew 6:19–21 and verse 33. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also …. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Devotion on Joyful, Service, Relationship with God, Psalm 100:2. 1 page.
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing (Psalm 100:2)!
This invitation from the psalmist is something that often gets forgotten in the rush of our daily lives. When this happens we let our human feelings of guilt, frustration, obligation, and weariness deprive ourselves of the gladness God wants us to have and enjoy.

Ep. 155: Rejoice, Always! — Devotion
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
Devotion on Comfort, Dealing with Down Days, Prayer, Philippians 4:4–7.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:4–7).
Rejoicing at all times is easier said than done. We all have our fair share of ups and downs. There are times when it is very easy to rejoice and then there are times when rejoicing is the last thing we want to do.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
I lay in bed, tossing and turning. I checked the weather report; it didn’t look good for driving. Deciding whether to proceed with daily plans can be daunting.

Devotion on Caregiving, Mark 8:25. 2 pages.
Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly (Mark 8:25).
Like the healed man who thought he saw walking trees, our vision can sometimes be distorted until we see through the eyes of Jesus.
