If then you have been raised with Christ, see the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is in your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:1–4).

The Lord’s plans are always better than our plans. He knows best because He knows us best!

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God (1 Corinthians 1:26–29).

Fighting Perfectionism with God’s Grace

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace … (1 Peter 4:10).

Each time a new group of women gather together for Bible studies, meetings, or service projects, a unique tapestry is created. Every woman is created by God with unique gifts and talents, personality, strengths, and weaknesses. When we are woven together as sisters in Christ, we strengthen each other. Woven fabric is stronger than individual threads. The beauty of each individual is enhanced by the overall pattern. We are strong and effective when we support each other, appreciating and encouraging women to use their gifts and talents to serve.

Reflecting on the beauty of the harvest season, there is also the reminder that just as the days are growing shorter, so too is the time before the Lord of the harvest will return to gather to Him all of His believers.
