Devotion on Christian Living, Proverbs 1:5a. 2 pages.
Let the wise hear and increase in learning (Proverbs 1:5a).
Do you remember being excited as a child about going back to school? There are times in my life now that I want to go back to school. I would like the routine of a school day to structure my busy life.

Devotion on Christian Living, Witnessing, Deuteronomy 6:6, 7, 9. 2 pages.
It is that time of year; time to say those three little words that mothers love to hear – “Back to School!” … Visual aids are a great teaching tool. Who says they have to be limited to the classroom? Take a good look at what is in this backpack. It is full of object lessons.
Props: Backpack with these items inside: ruler, school glue, eraser, pencil and crayons in the colors of brown, black, red, orange, green, blue, purple, yellow and white.

Ep. 204: Guides My Feet — Devotion
Wednesday Aug 09, 2023
Wednesday Aug 09, 2023
Devotion on Christian Living, 1 Peter 2:21. 1 page.
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps (1 Peter 2:21).
We seldom give our feet a second thought – except, of course, when they are painful or troublesome or our shoes don’t fit; then they demand our whole attention.

Ep. 203: Is Your Thirst for God Still Quenched? — Devotion
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
Devotion on Relationship with God, Christian Living, Renewal, Psalm 42:1-2, Psalm 63:1. 1 page.
As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God (Psalm 42:1-2).
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water (Psalm 63:1).
These words shine a spotlight directly on the need we all have to have our thirst quenched by God. The general activities of our life can make us dry. The stress and anxiety we face can make us dry. Add every weight and sin which clings so closely (Hebrews 12:1) to the mix and our soul can seem pretty parched.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8–9).

Ep. 201: Green Pastures — Devotion
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
Devotion on Relationship with God, Jesus the Good Shepherd, Psalm 103:15-17a. 1 page.
As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him (Psalm 103:15-17a).
No matter where we live, our lives experience times of spiritual “drought,” times when we grow weary of pulling the “weeds” that the world, the devil, and our flesh put in our path.

Ep. 199: Follow the Leader — Devotion
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Devotion on Leadership, John 10:17-18. 2 pages.
For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father (John 10:17-18).
Do you remember playing the childhood game, “Follow the Leader”? One person was chosen to lead and all others had to follow the example set by that person. The leader exerted great influence on the behavior of the group. Our world is full of many leaders: elected leaders, self-proclaimed leaders, natural leaders, and trained leaders. … We learn much from the leadership demonstrated by Jesus.

ENCORE: Ep. 105: The Cadillac Kid — Devotion
Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
Devotion on Relationship with God, Christian Living, Personal Spirituality, Luke 6:41-42. 1 page.
“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye” (Luke 6:41-42).
Most of us need to have the Cadillacs of life removed from our eyes because they obscure that on which we should be focusing. It is easy to want all the fancy cars, gadgets, games, and distractions that advertisers insist we need to be cool, fit in, or just be up-to-date with everyone else.
