“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart …” (Jeremiah 1:5).

God continues to hold you in His loving hands throughout your childhood, teenage years, and all the stages of your adult life. Do all these times feel like “The Perfect Age”? Of course not! How are you feeling today? Does today feel far from the “Perfect Age”? Take heart, God uses these times to make us stronger, bolder, wiser, more patient, and loving. Most of us need to have the Cadillacs of life removed from our eyes because they obscure that on which we should be focusing. It is easy to want all the fancy cars, gadgets, games, and distractions that advertisers insist we need to be cool, fit in, or just be up-to-date with everyone else.

What is the best gift a mother can give her child? I believe it is to pray for that child and surrender them to the Lord as Hannah did with Samuel in the verse we just read. We obviously will not physically surrender our children to the local pastor, but we can lay their lives at Jesus’ feet. We can pray for our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

“I love you most, want you to have the best and am willing to bear the consequences.”

This is one of nine thematic studies that were written to encourage women to dedicate their lives and work to the Lord, in spite of their own shortcomings. These Biblical women chosen all have “chinks in their armor”… all have been handicapped by something in their lives which might seem to make them unworthy to serve a holy God. However, these women, loved and forgiven, were chosen by the Lord to fulfill a specific purpose for Him.
