Wednesday Mar 16, 2022
Wednesday Mar 16, 2022
What is your heart seeing? Have you opened the eyes of your heart to behold His beauty or is there a fog over your rose-colored glasses? Are you caught up in the “I wanna be first” world? Have you lost sight of the One who should be the center of attention in your heart?
Focus My Heart is a devotion for Christian Life, by Cassandra Hebermehl, originally published by LWML.

Ep. 132: A Piece of the Rock — Devotion
Friday Mar 11, 2022
Friday Mar 11, 2022
“Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord:
look to the rock from which you were hewn ,and to the quarry from which you were dug.
Look at Abraham, your father, and to Sarah who bore you;
for he was but one when I called him, that I might bless him and multiply him”(Isaiah51:1-2).
An insurance company had the Rock of Gibraltar for its logo, encouraging the purchase of a “piece of the rock.” The Rock is seen as sturdy and unmoving, not faltering with each passing storm, which is what the company wants you to believe it is.
Through His prophet, God was telling the people to look at the rock from which they were cut – the rock of faith and reliance on God.

Ep. 131: Knee Deep in Slime! — Devotion
Wednesday Mar 02, 2022
Wednesday Mar 02, 2022
We are facing some tough times that will require each Christian to use her/his God-given gifts to deal with “slime.” God gives us the opportunity to exercise our faith when we come face-to-face with tragedies such as pandemics, droughts, hurricanes, terrorism, wars, immigration issues, serious illnesses, etc. We are called to reach out to the hurting.
Let us take the gifts we have and share them with others.

Ep. 130: Slipping and Sliding — Devotion
Wednesday Feb 23, 2022
Wednesday Feb 23, 2022
Slipping and sliding looks different from different perspectives…fun, scary, adventurous, frustrating, or frightening.
We not only can be slipping and sliding through incidents in our life regarding bad weather or exciting adventures, but we also can be slipping and sliding in our faith walk.
Faith must be in God, the Father and Creator; Jesus, the Son and Savior; and the Holy Spirit, Counselor and Sanctifier.

Ep 126: I Can Do It Myself! — Devotion
Wednesday Jan 19, 2022
Wednesday Jan 19, 2022
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you (1 Peter 5:7 New Living Translation).
From the time we are little children, we press the boundaries for greater self-reliance, quickly falling into the sin of being self-sufficient, an attribute we think is important for getting along in life. It’s a matter of pride and survival, of our sinful human nature. After all, wasn’t that what Adam and Eve were looking for? Wasn’t it really the desire to be like God, so that they would not have to rely on Him?
I Can Do It Myself! is a devotion on Christian Living by Nancy Kohrs, Lake City, Minnesota, originally published by LWML.

Wednesday Jan 12, 2022
Wednesday Jan 12, 2022
“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18a).
Where has sin stained your life? Take comfort and rejoice that in the washing of Holy Baptism, you are covered with Christ’s robe of righteousness … white as snow!
White as Snow is a devotion on baptism by Rev. Kristopher Whitby, Arlington Heights, Illinois, originally published by LWML.
