I can do all things through him who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
I lay in bed, tossing and turning. I checked the weather report; it didn’t look good for driving. Deciding whether to proceed with daily plans can be daunting.

Devotion on Caregiving, Mark 8:25. 2 pages.
Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly (Mark 8:25).
Like the healed man who thought he saw walking trees, our vision can sometimes be distorted until we see through the eyes of Jesus.

Devotion on Christian Living, Comparison, Proverbs 14:30.
A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot (Proverbs 14:30).
I look in the mirror. My two-year-old is crying in the background because we ran out of his favorite cereal. I cannot remember the last time I took a shower, and I just realized that I am out of the main ingredient to make dinner tonight. Sound familiar? How does God get you through these times?

fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;

Providing care for a loved one, whether an infant, a child, a teenager, a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, or a sibling can be a challenge. Without encouragement, a caregiver can become disheartened. How can we continue to let the light of Jesus’ love shine through us.

Ep. 144: Drive Wisely — Devotion
Wednesday Jun 01, 2022
Wednesday Jun 01, 2022
Devotion on Christian Living, Wisdom
Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance … (Proverbs 1:5).
Driver’s Education involves four stages: classroom, written test, observation, and behind the wheel. In the classroom phase, a beginner hears about driving. But hearing alone does not guarantee a passing grade on the written test. One must learn the material. Then as the student watches others drive, learning shifts to understanding. Knowing how to use a turn signal 200 feet before an intersection differs from visually recognizing where 200 feet actually begin. Finally when the pupil climbs behind the wheel, applied learning results in a successful trip. While no analogy is perfect, we see in Proverbs 1:5 a similar process for attaining wisdom.
